What is Ayahuasca?
Also known as Yage, the tea or la Abuelita — Ayahuasca is a brew made from the leaves of a plant known as Chacruna or Chacropanga. It is a small bush that normally grows by the Amazon rivers. Chacruna mixed along with the stalks of the Ayahuasca vine, that grows deep into the Amazon Jungle, are the two elements that are cooked with water for days traditionally in a ceremony were the brewmasters are constantly drinking the medicine during the process.
Sacred Plant
Ayahuasca is a sacred plant that has been used for thousands of years for spiritual and religious purposes by more than 90 ancient Amazonian tribes. It is also used as a sacred beverage by some religious communities in Brazil and North America. The Native North American Church in USA or Santo Daime in Brazil. It is important to know that this Natural Medicine is currently being used world wide to help people with drug addition (cocaine, crack, heroine, alcoholism). Ayahuasca can also help with depression and some other mental diseases.
How does it work?
DMT (Dimetiltriptamina) which is the main psychedelic element of Ayahuasca, is not only naturally present in our body but in many other substances and plants on the Earth, it is now also called the molecule of God or Spirit Molecule.
There are a few theories on how ancient tribes discovered Ayahuasca, however it is obvious that it has a lot to do with the spiritual connection they had with all the natural surrounding elements. The Medicine is basically the composition of two plants, a very specific sort of vine, Ayahuasca (MAO inhibitors MAOIs) that grows deep into the jungle and that only the indigenous know how to distinguish from others wines that also are growing in the jungle, and the Chacruna (MAO inhibitors MAOIs) a small bush that grows by the river. They are separated by a few hundred miles from each other so there are a few questions: How did they know to combine these two specific plants among the thousands of plants in the jungle? How did they know that DMT has to be combine with a MAO inhibitors in order to allow DMT to take effect?
Technically what happens is that when taken alone DMT gets rapidly broken down by enzymes called monoamine oxidases (MAOs) in the liver as well as in the gastrointestinal tract, so that is why DMT must be combined together with MAO inhibitors (MAOIs), which allow DMT to take effect. When combined, these two plants form a powerful brew or Tea that affects the central nervous system, leading to an altered state of consciousness that can include visions and sacred geometry, out-of-body experiences, and more importantly the chance to go through your own traumas that are affecting your life in many different ways. A healing process occurs when those sort of issues are brought to light so those traumas are naturally and slowly transformed into light.

If you would like to wear all white to ceremonies that is a beautiful way to honor and prepare for this sacred ritual. This is not mandatory and is completely optional. For me, I choose to wear all white or another outfit that is symbolic for me. It helps me mental, physically, and emotionally prepare.
If you want to wear something that feels sacred and symbolic for you that is great - whether it is white or not. Be sure it is comfortable and warm, though.
